Telecom/Telematique, Inc. was awarded a contract by U.S. Trade and Development Agency to organize and conduct technical/engineering courses and study tours for the Iraqi Ministry of Oil in 2006.

The Technical and Engineering program offered nine courses in Amman and Iraq for 330 engineers and technical specialists from the Ministry and Northern Oil Company and Southern Oil Company. Two Study Tours for ten senior engineers and technical experts each were conducted in the U.S. during July 2006.

Telecom/Telematique, Inc. is collaborated with U.S. industry and universities in conducting this important program to share with Iraqi's oil and gas industry the knowledge, technology, and business management practices that will advance the development of the sector. Industry partners contributed to Study Tours and courses, providing experts, case studies, simulations, and course materials.

Four of the courses were repeated in Sulaimania, Iraq for technical specialists during August and September 2006. Telecom/Telematique, Inc. organized and implemented the distance learning and e-learning program in Iraq for conducting these four engineering courses.

The second year of the program will measure and evaluate the impact of the training program of nine courses and two study tours. The Final Report will also recommend expanded and on-going education and training for Iraq's oil and gas industry.
