INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EXPERT
 

John Gerlich has over 40 years of experience in telecommunications and IT industry. Most recently he has been involved in developing public-private partnerships (PPP) in a wide spectrum of areas including emerging country health and e-Government applications, as well as infrastructure design, policy development and network management in a global environment. Currently he is conducting the T/TI Feasibility Study for Ghana's e-Government PPP program under a World Bank program. His responsibilities on this PPP project have included the development of the Needs Analysis and Solutions Options portions of the study.

Mr. Gerlich has managed both operational and development teams in both a centralized and follow-the-sun environments. He also has experience in managing software design, development and product life cycle giving him an advantage in the deployment and monitoring of these processes.

Mr. Gerlich has designed and implemented numerous call center automation technologies. Through the use of COTS and custom development he has integrated various services into cohesive architectures providing live and automated services. One of the first in the industry to develop "follow-me" type voice services. He has also worked as part of the team implementing products such as CitizenNet, a lower cost alternative to 911 services, as well as TRACnet, an HIV reporting system deployed in Rwanda.

Recently Mr. Gerlich designed a dispersed GSM cellular modem configuration for bi-directional SMS services in countries like Indonesia, India, Rwanda as well as others. He has also designed VoIP networks to substantially reduce telephone charges incurred by users of the company's IVR products.

Previously he has managed development of call processing and rating as founder of a firm pioneering services to the industry. The firm developed the first interface to link inventory databases and Telephone Company switching centers for the purpose of activating telephones. Some of the company's clients included Pacific Telesis and Bell Canada cellular ventures.
