TUIT is the only Communication University in Central Asia, it is situated in one of the finest places in the Uzbek capital. TUIT has an excellent reputation for technical studies. It was founded in 1955 as the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communication and is one of the largest and prestigious Higher Schools of our Uzbekistan.

More then 20,000 highly skilled engineers of communication have graduated the University during this time. They work in communication enterprises, project institutes, and even in industrial and scientific institutes, which cover various areas of our Republic, as well as the Republics of Central Asia, Kazakhstan, and even Siberia and the Far East.

During the time of its activity this educational institution has extended and met the newest requirements in development of communication and telecommunication. After the gaining of Independence by the Republic of Uzbekistan, and according to the order of the President of the Republic there was organized a Special faculty under the TEIC. Being an Independent in the systems of University's faculties, the faculty is training officers - signalmen for Armed forces of Uzbekistan.
