The IT equipment for the Lab is a mixture of Microsoft Windows XP desktops, Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/RedHat Linux dual-boot servers, Sun Solaris servers, as well as Cisco switches and routers.

The curriculum that depends on this equipment is varied: systems administration, network administration, programming, database administration, security, and Internet based application design. It will be divided into tracks that will lead to certification in various categories.

There are 2 labs consisting of 10 workstations each. Each workstation houses a Windows XP based desktop, 2 desktop routers, and desktop switches. The servers used in the IT curriculum are in a rack in the back of the room, to be separate from the racks used for the Telecom equipment.

LAB EQUIPMENT INCLUDES:

  1. PCs: 20 1. 20 Windows XP Desktops. Each equipped with the following features:
    • 256 MB of RAM
    • 80 Gig Hard draive
    • Celeron 1700 processor
  2. ROUTERS: 40 Desktop Switches and 10 Routers
  3. SERVERS: 20 Servers to support Windows Server and Linux courses
  4. UNIX SERVERS: 4. Sun UNIX Servers 20 Servers to support Windows Server and Linux courses
