The telecommunications lab is combined with the IT lab. Equipment available from TUIT such as the Fujitsu and Shanghai Bell switching labs are used to provide basic wiring, Circuit Switching, and physical layer training. Additional classes are taught on this same equipment such as metropolitan xDSL and Frame Relay distribution. Be reusing existing TUIT curriculum equipment the overall cost of center development was lowered. The focus of the center is on next generation Voice Over IP (VoIP) networking equipment from Cisco Systems. The center's training on VoIP technologies is critical in providing the next generation of telecommunications in Uzbekistan. Each lab consists of 10 workstations. Each workstation houses telephones (analog and digital) as well IT equipment. The routers and switches used in the telephony training are in a rack in the back of the room, separate from the racks used for the IT equipment. LAB EQUIPMENT INCLUDES:
